Erin Sutton

Head Coach 12 National

My name is Erin Sutton. I'm so excited to be back coaching at Lake Murray. I have been playing volleyball for 21 years and coaching for 14.

When I became too old to play juniors, I went straight into coaching as an assistant for a 14U team and have been coaching ever since. In my seasons coaching I have tried to take a "person first, athlete second" approach to coaching. I love to develop the girls I coach as players but get so much more satisfaction from watching them grow as young women. I am constantly looking for areas where I can improve my coaching abilities and approach.

I look forward to seeing the players I work with this year mature into great players and even better people

Abbie Palm

Assistant Coach 12 National

My name is Abbie Palm, and I can’t wait to be part of LMVC!

I have been playing volleyball since the 4th grade and continued through high school, playing on the varsity team for four years. I also competed in club volleyball for three years. I helped run camps for younger players, fostering their skills and love for the sport.

During her time, I will be attending Midlands Technical College and plan to continue my education at the University of South Carolina. I am excited to be a part of LMVC, where I can share my passion for volleyball!

Sean Dillon

Head Coach 15 Elite

I have been playing volleyball since I was about 6 years old and have been with LMVC for 13 years now. I was the head coach of our 14 Elite & 18 Elite teams last season and I am excited to be the head coach for our 15 Elite team for the 2025-26 season. I will also be an assistant on the 17 Elite team.

I was the assistant coach in 2014 for the JV Hammond School team and assistant varsity Hammond coach from 2015-17. I was the assistant varsity coach at Heathwood Hall for the 2018-19 season. I was the assistant varsity coach at Ben Lippen School as well. Also, I am the setting coach for LMVC.

I am a HUGE fan of outdoor volleyball as well. I love the game and look forward to this season!

Sue Dillon

Assistant Coach 15 Elite

I am so excited to be entering another season with LMVC! As Director, I am so proud of the culture that we have built, the players we have mentored and the relationships that we have formed! This will be our 20th season in business and we are ready to CELEBRATE!!

This season I will be the head coach for our 17 elite team and the assistant coach for our 15 elite team. Every season seems to get better and better and I know that this upcoming season will not disappoint.

I am also the Recruiting Coordinator for our club and we have an excellent record of helping our players get the opportunity to play at the next level. In fact, for our 2025 season, we had seven of our ten 18 Elite players sign, one that didn’t want to play in college and the other two are 2026 grads (check out our "signings" page under recruiting) We take this part of the playing experience extremely seriously but we also realize that playing in college is not for everyone. We are here to help either way!

Lastly, as far as my coaching history, I have been coaching for 30 years now at all levels. I am currently the head varsity coach and program director at Ben Lippen School. For LMVC, I am proud to say that over the last 10 seasons, all of my elite teams have finished in the top 10% nationally (according to AES)!

We hope that you will consider joining the LMVC family!

Amanda Mintz

Assistant Coach 15 Elite

I started playing volleyball in 6th grade and haven’t been able to give it up since. I played club for 4 years at South Bay Volleyball Club, 2 years of Varsity at Torrance High School as the starting setter, and 2 years at El Camino College in California.

I started coaching in 2002 with Palos Verdes Volleyball Club for 4 years, Triumph volleyball Club for 3 years. I was also the JV coach and Varsity Assistant for Morningside High School (boys and girls).

I moved to South Carolina in 2013 and began with Lake Murray in 2014. I had to take a few years off from coaching due to family schedules and work commitments, I am so excited to be back coaching with Lake Murray. Coaching to me is so much more than teaching these athletes how to play the game of volleyball but helping them to grow into amazing young adults on and off the court. Volleyball has been such a huge part of my life; I am so thankful to be able to share my love and passion for the game through coaching. Outside of coaching and volleyball, I spend my weekends and weeknights at the baseball field. I have 2 boys (Andrew 12, Austin 9) who both play travel baseball, I love spending time with them watching them do what they love.

Shawn Acton

Head Coach 16 National

I was the Varsity coach at Irmo High school for the 2016-2018 seasons. I started coaching for the Providence Athletic Club (PAC) in 2019 and became the Volleyball Director for the 2020 season, taking the Varsity team to win the NACA Division 4 National title in 2021, placing 3rd after moving up to Division 3 in 2022, 2nd place finish in 2023 and winning the Division 2 National title in 2024.

I love coaching volleyball and watching the players progress during the season not only in their volleyball skills but as individuals. I try to teach each of my players the love of the sport but also how to be a good teammate and competitor.

I played Basketball all through school in PA. Once I graduated college in 1984 I moved to South Carolina. I had a friend that played outdoor volleyball and he showed me how to play and I have been playing ever since. I played indoor and outdoor and loved the sport.

Once my daughter became old enough to play (and wanted to), I got her into Club Volleyball. We found Lake Murray early and became Board Members back in 2008. Once my daughter graduated High School I started coaching.

Xzavian "Zay" Slaughter

Assistant Coach 16 National

My name is Xzavian Slaughter. I’ve been playing volleyball for about four years now, and I’ve grown to love the sport. In my senior year of college, I joined the USC Men's Club Team to try out competitive play and have since enjoyed interacting with the sport. I finished the year playing on the Club Indoor Team, joined the Club Beach Team, and branched into grass volleyball to gain more competitive experience and grow as a player. Now I still play indoor pickup when I can and play grass volleyball at a AA/Open level.

I’m also involved with Columbia Club Volleyball and the VolleyBums in both running local tournaments and larger events such as The Clash and The Crown. My ultimate goal is to help South Carolina volleyball grow while becoming the best player & coach I can be

Claire Damon

Assistant Coach 17 Elite

I am originally from Sycamore, IL where my introduction to the sport began. Born into a family of volleyball playing parents, my exposure to the activities of the court and importance of teamwork, started at a very early age. My mother played volleyball for Illinois Wesleyan, while my father participated in a club volleyball program at Northern Illinois University. I began participating in camps at the age of 8 and played all 6 years with my school team as a setter. During the off-season, I played club volleyball for 2 seasons with Sky High Volleyball Club and 3 seasons with Club Fusion as a libero/defensive specialist/setter.

In 2002, an athletic scholarship brought me to South Carolina where I played 4 years at Lander University. I am proud to now call the Columbia area home and am happy to be a part of the LMVC family for the ninth year. I continue to play both indoor and outdoor volleyball, and look forward to “passing” on my love of the game. I am excited to be coaching for the 17 Elite team this year!
